Abstract

The relationship between pension and labour supply has been a controversial issue. The paper aims to examine the relationship between the provision of Specific Corporate Pensions(SCP) and labor supply from the old. Using KRIS panel data, this study utilizes descriptive analyses, cross-sectional logistic regression, and the panel fixed-effect model. First, the descriptive analyses show that the portion of workers among SCP recipients is higher than those among non recipients. Second,Third, controlling for unobservable characteristics of individuals and time fixed-effects, panel data analysis shows that the relationship is not significant. These results imply that the provision of public pension does not reduce labour supply from the old. It is necessary to examine other elements to have an effect on labour supply from the old in the future research.
